Fremantle

Situated in the bustling port city of Fremantle, this campus features comprehensive training facilities and state-of-the-art equipment for specialised courses across maritime, engineering and marine industry areas. 
Fremantle campus boasts unrivalled facilities including an advanced ship simulator training suite, a fleet of eight training vessels, biological and computing laboratories, engineering and seamanship workshops and an aquaculture hatchery. 

The world-class simulator technology featured at Fremantle campus assists in training future shipmasters, officers and engineers. The simulator technology features advanced mathematical modelling and shipping databases and the hardware replicates the current equipment installed on seagoing ships.
Fremantle campus also features tourist/charter boats, work boats, ferries and dive boats for marine studies and fishing operations training within the commercial fishing industry.
 

Facilities

Fremantle campus features a library for the use of students on campus.

The library provides:

  • A large and diverse resource collection of books, magazines and DVDs, both physical and online
  • Assistance with researching for information and answers to reference enquiries
  • Information sessions on library and information services, supported with published and online information guides
  • Assistance with study, referencing and learning skills
  • Networked and wireless computer areas
  • Access to electronic information such as internet and databases

There is no cafeteria on campus. There is a multitude of food and beverage options are available in nearby Fremantle shopping precinct, or bring your own food to prepare in the student kitchenette.  

Vending machines are available for drinks and snacks.

We recommend all visitors to campuses take advantage of our Smart Travel information to ease congestion on and around our campuses.  

Parking 
Student parking is available in designated areas. A parking permit is required and can be obtained from Customer Service. If you park out of marked areas or don’t have a permit you risk a fine from the City of Fremantle Rangers.   

Public transport
Fremantle campus is accessible via a five-minute walk to Fremantle station and bus terminus. Visit Transperth's Journey Planner, using South Metropolitan TAFE Fremantle campus as a landmark to plan your trip or collect a timetable from the Customer Service Centre on campus.
