University of Western Australia’s Industry 4.0 Testlab for Energy & Resources Digital Interoperability (UWA I4.0 ERDi Testlab)

The University of Western Australia (UWA) I4.0 ERDi Testlab is one of six testlabs established at Australian universities in 2019. Each testlab provides innovation support for small and medium enterprises in priority industry growth sectors and builds the skills required to capitalise on technological opportunities presented by Industry 4.0. The testlab is a collaboration between SM TAFE, UWA, the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, AMIRA International and Enterprise Transformation Partners. The benefit of this collaboration includes the opportunity for early evaluation of the impact of Industry 4.0 on manufacturing and business models, as well as the development of capability within the organisation to work alongside companies and industry in real work applications of Industry 4.0 – a pivotal step in becoming a deliverer of future skills.

"It has been a pleasure working with our ERDi Testlab education partners, South Metropolitan TAFE, in the identification of future skills for Industry 4.0. We anticipate these discussions will continue as the needs of industry evolve."
Professor Eric May, Chevron Chair in Gas Process Engineering and Director of the UWA Industry 4.0 Testlab for Energy & Resources Digital Interoperability (ERDi).
