In collaboration with Siemens, the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) and The University of Western Australia (UWA), we held an Industry 4.0 Forum on Tuesday 12 November 2019 to celebrate the launch of the exciting new qualification – The Diploma of Applied Technologies 22460VIC.

The Diploma of Applied Technologies 22460VIC encompasses the core skills that are required for future graduates looking to undertake in-demand technical roles within Industry 4.0’s manufacturing and engineering environments, focusing on the adoption of high-level technological skills and tools required for the future workforce.

Significant industry guests from the likes of Austal, BHP, Woodside Energy Ltd, Engineers Australia and Murdoch University gathered at SM TAFE’s Munster campus in an aim to bring together key industry initiatives and policies and to address current industry needs and training requirements.
Bringing together employers, industry council representatives and education providers, this collaboration is an ode to the emphasis SM TAFE has on providing quality training that is directly aligned to meet the specific needs of industry.

SM TAFE hosted keynote speaker Christopher Mears – Regional Head of Sales Digital Industries, Siemens, who presented on ‘The Future of Industrial Automation in Australia’. We were also joined by four key industry guest speakers; Friedrich Beisser – Head of Siemens Professional Education Asia and Australia; Megan Lilly – Head of Workforce Development, Ai Group; Jill Stajduhar – Manager, Australian Centre for LNG Futures, UWA; and Jason Cullen – CEO of the UEEA Training Council.
