Student Code of Conduct

South Metropolitan TAFE (SM TAFE) is a respectful and inclusive adult learning environment. By enrolling in a course provided by South Metropolitan TAFE, students agree abide by the conditions of enrolment and all South Metropolitan TAFE by-laws, which are detailed in the Student Code of Conduct and form part of the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.  

The Student Code of Conduct and related documents outline the expected standard of behaviour for all students and provide guidelines for the development and management of the Student Code of Conduct.

The Student Code of Conduct 

The Student Code of Conduct applies to all students enrolled at SM TAFE while on SM TAFE campuses, on work placement, accessing college networks/electronic environments and at all other times when identifiable as a student of SM TAFE. 

The Student Code of Conduct is a set of guidelines outlining what is required of students with regards to academic integrity and behaviour, and what constitutes misconduct. 

The Student Behaviour Management Policy (TS01) 

The Student Behaviour Management Policy establishes guidelines for the development and management of the Student Code of Conduct. Each enrolled student has the right to participate in activities free from behaviour that may impair their learning, safety and well-being. Each enrolled student is also responsible for ensuring they do not adversely affect college property or the learning, work, safety and well-being of any other college individual. 

This policy applies to all vocational education and training student enrolled at South Metropolitan TAFE (SM TAFE). This policy refers to academic misbehaviour as well as general misbehaviour of students enrolled at SM TAFE.
