Welcome Days and Orientation

Semester 2, 2024

Welcome to South Metropolitan TAFE, and congratulations on enrolling!

Before you start studying, please login to the Student Hub or attend one of our Welcome Days to check your Orientation information.

Welcome Days

Starting as a new student or at a new campus can be intimidating, so why not drop in before classes start and receive some hands-on help navigating life at SM TAFE. Welcome Days are taking place at Rockingham, Thornlie, and Murdoch campuses on the following dates:

Rockingham campus
Thursday, 4 July 2024, 10am -2pm  | Campus map (opens in a new tab)

Thornlie campus
Wednesday 10 July 2024, 10am - 2pm | Campus map(opens in a new tab)

Murdoch campus
Friday 12 July 2024, 10am - 2pm | Campus map(opens in a new tab)

Staff will be there to help you to:

  • Understand your timetable
  • Secure parking permits and find how to get to campus
  • Complete a Transperth SmartRider application
  • Get your photo taken for your Student ID card
  • Take a tour of the campus
  • Be introduced to our online platforms
  • Find services and meet the staff that can assist you throughout your studies
  • Talk through any concerns and questions you have for your first day

These events are optional and you don't need to attend the same campus that you'll be studying at.  You will receive an invite to register for a Welcome Day via email, once you are enrolled.  If you can't make it to a Welcome Day, the Student Hub provides the key information required for your studies.

If you have any questions about the Welcome Days, please contact the Student Success team
